Yes, we all know you care about the environment. Yes, we know that you are passionate about saving our planet. And yes, we also know that you need funds for your work!
But we also know that we are not about to share our credit card information with some schmuck who wears your T-shirt. Do you honestly believe that accosting people on Michigan Ave. will get you the necessary funds?
You know those kids signed up for the free t-shirt don't you? You know that no amount of emotional blackmailing will cause people to part with private information right? Well, cross that, I guess some dumbos will share their credit card digits on street.
But not me! nunh-uh!
So, just stay away next time and DO NOT waste my precious time!

Earth Day! ~ A preachy post!
I started this blog to document my passions and maybe make a pithy comment on life! But it seems like I am sorely lacking in the department of "pithiness" ( or whatever you want to call it). So most of the posts are about my myriad passions and favs. That being established, how could I not blog about Earth Day????
I personally believe that every day is Earth Day, not something that deserves your attention just one day a out of a whole year. I follow this motto personally and so does A. But all around us, we see our friends and neighbors completely oblivious to their polluting lifestyle. A "greener" lifestyle takes only a few minor tweaks PLUS of course, willingness to make those changes.
Some easy changes that we have made:
1) Use microfiber cloths instead of paper towels~ the microfiber cloths are a HUGE improvement over paper towels. They clean like nobody's business. They make my stove shine and counters squeaky clean. Designate one cloth for each day of the week and just toss them in the laundry once a week! That's it! so easy!
2) Use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar for all your cleaning needs instead of store bought cleaners. Not only do you save money, but also rid your home of poisonous chemicals! Good for you, and good for the planet.
3) Recycle ~ Recycle ~Recycle. I am surprised every time I see our friends throw away recyclable material in garbage. How hard is it to throw it in that recycling bin instead of garbage bin? If you do not have a recycling bin, go get one at your village/town/city office. You get one for FREE! yayy
These small steps can make a huge dent in our polluting habits!

How WIDE is your footprint?
We all impact the world we live in just by being~ being alive, eating, sleeping and just existing. We all leave a footprint on this planet. This footprint almost always is detrimental to the blue planet, but we can minimize it through simple steps. This amazing project by Discovery, has an easy calculator that measures our footprint on our planet.
Our household of two came in at 44. Very high but still lower than average American score of more than 50. I also think that the calculator does not take into account every aspect of our life and things we can modify to reduce our footprint. For example, it does not calculate how much paper you use, versus recyclable cloth, do you wash in hot water or cold water etc. But it is still comprehensive in the broader sense.
Our score was way above the worldwide average of 11. I know that we can do a lot more in terms of reducing our footprint. I still have not replace all our bulbs for the efficient variety. Not all our appliances at eco saver etc.
Take a gander over the the website and calculate your score.

American Idol ~ Anoop Dogg
Last week on American Idol was MJ night! I was super excited just because of that one fact! Bonus?~ live performances by Kanye and Kelly Clarkson.
Kanye turned out to be a doozy! That guy CANNOT sing live! Meaning he cannot sing,~ period!
Kelly Clarkson turned in a fine performance as expected!
Surprise of the evening was performace by ABCD Anoop Dogg. His rendition of "beat it" was real american CHEESE!
He had a good night yesterday though. Hope he sticks around a while! That will be celebrated by the desi community! :)

Winter Blues ~ Or Whites to be precise!
This Chicago winter is kicking my @#@$. I am a warm weather gal who has no idea why she sticks around in colder than Alaska Chicago.
My hands and feet are the first feel the nip. I won't last for a minute in regular shoes in Chicago winter. What I need are these. I heart bright whites~ so chic.
They should keep the toes toasty.
Now I only need a hot cup of something to warm my fingers. :)
